Sometimes we look into a certain situation and only weigh the good part of that situation. All too often reality rears its ugly head and dashes our hopes and dreams to pieces. Here are some questions to ask yourself before putting your self in an emotional and financial bind. Some of these issues can be resolved before you start school and some just simply can’t be resolved. MIKE B.
This career may not be for you right now if YOU:
Are running from something in your life.
Cannot drive for long periods of time (more than 100 miles).
Are not disciplined enough to drive on your own
without direct supervision.
Your wife or significant other is not at least 50%
on board with you being gone for up to a month.
Have not saved up at least 3 months worth of wages.
Do not have at least 1.5 yrs (not trucking exp. but ANY
work exp. ie: burger king, mcdonalds,walmart, target,etc.)
of solid work history.
Do not have your health under control.
Are highly social and crave social interaction all the time.
Are having child support issues.
Are going thru marital issues.
Are prone to road rage.
Have trouble sleeping.
Are suffering from depression.
Are expecting a high paying job right after training.
Are expecting a child.
Have a violent criminal history.
Are under the impression that trucking is a “part time gig”.
Do not have your plans in trucking mapped out at least
5 years in advance.
Excessive points on your license (3-4.5 points)
